As you are probably already aware, Field Day has been rescheduled to Thursday, June 13. The weather does not look great this week, so here are a few helpful reminders when dressing your child for a fun day:
1. Wear socks and sneakers (old ones if at all possible) it will most likely be mucky on the fields.
2. Have your child bring a sweatshirt that they can tie around their waist. We know Nahant is always 10 degrees cooler than other places on the North Shore.
3. Still put on sunscreen – we learned during our Sun Smart presentation that even cloudy days can give us UV rays.
For those you who this is your first Johnson School Field Day, let me tell you it is very well run and a great time had by all. My first year here, I was nervous to let my babies go off to all different teams. However, after seeing field day in action, now I know that these Kindergartners, who came in so little in the Fall, are big kids who can handle working with other adults and older kids. We also make sure that each 6th grade buddy is with their little buddy, which helps to ensure a great day.
