There was a classroom of engaged learners this week in Math. Already towards the end of our second unit, this week, I introduced sorting and Ten Frames. Children not only practiced these mathematical concepts through the use of manipulatives, but they also practiced many of the Common Core Math Practice Standards. These Practice standards are to enhance mathematical THINKING and are the same for all grades K-12. If you are interested in reading the standards, they can be found here: Math Practice Standards.
