Classroom Blog vs. Classroom Newsletter

You may have noticed that on Fridays I am sending home a weekly classroom newsletter in your child’s home-school folder. It is my hope that this newsletter will give you an update on important events and issues that have come up during the week. It will also let you know about some of the things we are studying.

The question then becomes if I do all of that in a one-page newsletter, what will become the purpose of this wonderfully informative blog? I have given that some thought as well. I want this blog to be where I write about more universal education topics, reflect on current articles and literature as well as small vignettes about things happening in the classroom, where we can go more in depth than in the one page newsletter. I think this is what has been happening organically anyway, but I wanted to let you know my thinking. Any thoughts or comments you can always email me at bpurdin@johnsonschool.org. I love feedback on the blog!

Thanks! Now it’s off to enjoy this beautiful weather we are having this afternoon!
