Save the Dates!

What amazing weather we are having this weekend! I hope everyone is out enjoying it. I saw many children playing little league yesterday morning. It was fun to seem them working as a team, and trying their best on the field! Thanks to my little friends who invited me – I enjoyed the sunshine and seeing you shine!

Our final weeks together will fly by! This is the time of year I begin to juggle two groups – the incoming students and my outgoing ones. I will be out of the room a few hours this week as I do screening for incoming kindergartners. When I am back in class, we will be working on songs and poetry for our final show. Please save the date – June 8, 2012 at 9 a.m. in the Cafeteria. We will be having a short performance and then children will be showing off their portfolios of work. Family and friends are invited. See you there!

The end of the school year brings out the best in Johnson School traditions – Field Day, Moving On Ceremony for our 6th grades, our final time with 6th grade buddies and our tide pooling field trip on June 11.  I look forward to enjoying our time together and celebrating the growth and learning your children have done this year.

Cinco De Mayo Event

Today is PTO’s Cinco De Mayo Event from 3-7 p.m. at the school. I’ll be there with almost 300 surprise bags all donated by Johnson School families for the Surprise Bag station. Thank you – I know many families from our class made bags – we really appreciate it! I was amazed again by the generosity of our school’s families!

In the spirit of today’s event put on together by a community of people I am posting this simple message and one of my favorite posters:

Many of the things you probably already do. Stay tuned in my next post I will be revealing our end of the year calendar of important dates of celebrations!

Hope to see many of you later on today.
Ms. Purdin 🙂
